Chrome was shiny & futuristic, so stainless steel appliances looked sleek and modern when they were first introduced, but now that they’re everywhere they look drab and sterile. I’m waiting for things to shift back the opposite direction where everything will have integrated LED panels and the whole kitchen will glow in RGB like a desktop computer rig. (Honestly, I don’t know if that would be terrible or awesome.)
Ugh - I can’t express how much I hate this. It’s not clean or sterile, just… straight lines dingy. Eeyore as an interior design aesthetic.
