I’ve read a series where the vampires had to bite people to have sex… Apparently drinking blood raised their blood pressure?
It didn’t start out as that kind of series, but after getting a few books in shit started getting weirder and I stuck around thinking it was going to get back to the fun storylines in this cool modern fantasy world with vampires and werewolves and wereleopards and guns and necromacy, but instead of going off the rails a bit and coming back, it turned into “Rails? Where we’re going we don’t need rails!”

They have blood, when they turn a human, they drink the human’s blood and make the human drink some of theirs.
