If he’s always photosynthesising and his body storing it for later somehow… he’d put on a huge amount of weight in his non-Hulk form.
Perhaps its pulled from another dimension, like Cyclop’s laser from the DCU, or maybe it’s another force of the universe, like the speed force also from the DCU. There’s endless ways to explain it.
