You’ll notice this is a theme among right wingers. Like how a guy named Enrique Tarrio runs the proud boys, a white nationalist terrorism group.

Right wing extremists aren’t really known for being smart (outside of perhaps some of the paid grifters).

And the trans neonazi who just tried to shoot up a Hindu temple. I feel slightly more knowledge of history may have helped there.

Because Hitler didn’t produce the Nazi movement, it was a collection of historical forces and movements that cleared the way for him to take power

Hitler didn’t create the Nazi movement, the Nazi movement created Hitler

We can also add that Hitler Exploited Nazism to get power, kinda like Trump exploits ignorance

I used to wonder this too until MAGA. Look at what they call “beautiful” and look at they try to convince you is a “tough alpha”. They even proclaim to be tough alphas when they are actively whining about being victims all the time

Trump literally thinks and says he is fit and everyone agrees.

I think it must be the cult of personality

This is a very rough summary from back in school where we took they apart rigorously. Mistakes likely :)

In short: the blonde/blue eyes is the simplification that was applied quite early. The supreme race were the European Nordic type and that was just one of the most prominent characteristics. That said: it’s VERY pseudoscience, mixing genetics with religion and esoteric believes.

And that “theory” didn’t end with Scandinavian good, rest bad: it was a whole bullshit of how world races work. The Japanese (if I recall correctly) were by the way another super superior awesome “race” in Hitlers book. I think there even was a third one!

Oh and to the personal question: this is like asking someone who was bad why they’re still catholic! I recall that there were several time pieces describing Hitlers sadness and even depressive episodes because he wasn’t part of that superior race (that poor, poor dipshit).

But enter his loyal staff who got phrenologists on board and historians and hurray, the Fuhrer is a direct Arian descendant with all positive traits who just deviated in an irrelevant hair- and eye color pattern. (And size and saneness but for some reason they left that out).

It’s historically fascinating to think about the fact that Hitlers believes and Nancy Reagans “I call the astrologist for every major decision of the cold war” are quite similar in their origins in that regard - with hitler being a tiny bit more extreme of course.

    He did have blue eyes.
There’s definitely some tendency among rightwingers to ignore the obvious mismatch between their personal traits and the marginalized groups that they and their mates are hating on. e.g. there were NSDAP-nazis who were ethnically jewish, or more or less openly homosexual (Ernst Röhm, one of the party’s leaders before he was assassinated). Today lots of far right parties have female leaders who clearly don’t match their parties’ “family values”, Alice Weidel of Germany’s AfD is even openly lesbian with a Sri Lankan girlfriend/wife.

Nowadays that’s tokenism. “How can our party be sexist, racist, or homophobic when our leader is in a mixed-race lesbian relationship”

Think of “blonde/blue” as their idea of an A+ grade but Ds would do… For now…

Rampant early 20th century racism aside, eugenics movements were popular with the intent of eliminating the horrors of genetic diseases from future generations… Then they saw it taken to its logical conclusion…

Basically their bumper stickers read: “I got this castration before we knew he was crazy”

Did he really? Idk the particulars of Hitler’s talking points regarding race. Maybe he knew that would resonate with his base? Maybe he was delusional enough to see a blond man with blue eyes when facing the mirror? More importantly, why did his base support this nonsense if he himself was not one of those? Did they disregard the obvious incoherence because they felt reinvigorated and powerful? 🤔

Keep in mind that we are talking about right-wingers here. They are not known to make sense with their behavior. On the contrary, the word “mad” describes them quite well.
