Agate LLC is reporting 52.65 megawatts of electricity during peak electrical demand and 13.299 megagallons of water between cooling towers, evaporative systems and site operations in the last year.
That totals out to 13 million gallons of water.

53 megawatts “during peak electrical demand” or “last year”?
Because timespans matter. 53 megawatts is the rough average annual power consumption of 5 households. So if that’s the datacenter’s annual power usage… they’re not using that much power after all. On the other hand, if that’s the monthly usage, that’s more in line with compute/data center usage. And if it’s daily use… 😬
Same with the water. 13 million gallons is about 260 thousand bathtubs worth of water. That’s basically what a town of ~300k will use in one night for bathing only. So for annual usage it’s not that bad. For monthly usage it’s passable. For daily usage… again 😬
You’re thinking of MWh, this is MW.
Meaning at a given moment of peak usage, it’s drawing that many MW. If it draws that much for 1 hour, then it consumed that many MWh.
A year’s worth of 5 households’ power consumption is one hour of peak operation is pretty bad…
interesting is that they are getting over 100 million in refunds, while using so much electricity and water which the state is essentially subsidizing.
Agate LLC reports expecting a refund of $55,822,472 from 2025 taxes. Fireball LLC is expecting a refund of $39,171,573.39 from 2025 taxes. Westwood Solutions LLC, the Google-owned data center in Omaha, is expecting a refund of $22,558,881 from 2025 taxes.
Amazing how something that creates literally nothing can make so much money. Well it creates pain and suffering I guess. Worth it.
That’s like 1 million per job created! A steal for sure!
