I’ve been on a few rural flights in Northern Ontario. I can totally see why they’d cancel low population flights. I imagine fuel consumption at cruising speed is reasonable, but takeoff and landing cannot be fuel efficient, and those flights last like 30mins. It’s likely not even actually worth the fuel cost, but a requirement put on them by our Govt (as they should, obviously).
Be pretty interested to see the profitablity break down for those flights.

If they’re cancelling flights for maintenance reasons, that suggests they aren’t doing the regular scheduled maintenance they’re supposed to be doing.
That alone is reason not to fly with them.
They’re willing to lie and tell everyone that they didn’t bother maintaining their planes. Not the lie I’d go with as a company flying these things just to get out of less profitable flights.
Monied interests make sure that they’ll never see that leader. The NDP are controlled opposition at best. Which sucks because they’re barely even left wing with their ideas.
The reality is that most trade partners won’t have our exact same ideals. Deciding not to trade with people that don’t match us exactly would mean we trade with basically no one and our countries economic future would be incredibly bleak.
Over time we might be able to have existing trade partners move closer towards our ideals, but even that isn’t incredibly likely. Even our own record for our treatment of the First Nations peoples is abhorrent.
And since the Americans went full fascist, that’s not exactly a better option to Türkiye not respecting LGBTQ+ and women’s rights.
Human beings suck massively in a variety of ways, trade partners will never be perfect.
Wonder how many crimes their lack of proper security will lead to. There’s already people on Lemmy saying they’re likely to be murdered, presumably even more on Reddit/Meta’s Shithole/Twitter.
This is why you never give your details. You can’t trust that malicious actors or plain old incompetence won’t end up with you paying the ultimate price.

If a few kids from politicians were killed in said traffic deaths it might. Nothing else is going to do it that’s for sure.
A local politicians kid or two dying would probably do it.
If Jewish people take offense to the Epstein class, then they might want to do some introspection.
Religious Jewish people are not the Epstein class, Israel on the other hand absolutely include themselves in that term since they are 100% involved in the collective violent rape of children.
If a Jewish person can’t separate those two, that’s shitty for them and they should figure out why.

We didn’t gain striking rights through peaceful means. And we’re not going to keep them by just accepting they no longer exist. You keep them through the exact same means we gained them with.
Except costs won’t go down for those subsidising CC usage. Rogers will simply report more profit and raise prices further anywhere they can.
I never really understood the appeal of these.
