If you believe the gaslighting from Corporate Democrats, it’s never the time to talk about what their party should actually do to help voters. If it’s primary election season, it’s not the time because that allegedly weakens party “unity.” If it’s general election season, it’s not the time because that’s allegedly too “divisive.” If it’s after an election, it’s not the time because there’s another election coming up. The whole reason for elections is to give voters the chance to ask what their representatives are going to do…but somehow, we’re expected to believe that it’s literally never the time for that!

For the record, during the primary and after the election are both definitely “the time.”

Part of why, I wholeheartedly believe, we should completely ban consecutive terms. Not just for a single office, but cross offices. You can’t be a senator and run for president, or a mayor and run for governor.

If we forced politicians to complete their entire term before running any new campaigns, I think we’d get some real change.

The fact that ~40% of their work time is spent trying to stay in office should be our biggest reason to change the system. Unfortunately, they get to decide whether it changes.
