I remember saying to my roommate at the time, 30+ years ago, something like, “I can just buy and eat cake whenever I want. What the hell?”
This was just before my realization that pie is superior to cake in every way.
I don’t read DMs.

Won’t work in most cities.
This is common enough in very small towns not on main highways, though, where everyone knows everyone, and many of them are relatives.
I imagine in mob-controlled neighborhoods, in cities, where everyone knows who owns the store and no one would dare steal from it, it would work. But, that might be fiction.
I climbed up in the roof crawl space (by no stretch is it an “attic”) and ran Cat6 to every room in my house 15 years ago. The living room and two smaller bedrooms got one, and the master bedroom got two.
I’m very happy with the upgrade. I also run WiFi, of course, for phones and tablets, and my kid’s Steam Deck, etc.

Nah. This is BS. They’d do the first one. When they’ve done this, the car was parked right next to the hydrant. Even if it is real, FAFO.

Right. With prescription lenses the perv glasses are north of $500. If you need to perv and you can’t afford another pair, then you just need to wear the perv glasses all the time.

Narrator: It doesn’t work.

Wired passed on calling them “pervert glasses”.
Cowards.
Probably fake, but if it’s true, people don’t know what they don’t know.
To a whole lot of people mechanical devices border on magic. The gas goes in the hole, you push on the pedal and the car moves. That’s literally all they know. They don’t have any idea how an internal combustion engine works, much less an electric motor. They’ve spent their time learning things that are more important to them.
I’d hazard a guess that, apart from Bill Gates, the top billionaires are clueless regarding this stuff.
Hell, many race car drivers don’t know much about it, they just know how the car feels.
If you know the four-stroke engine cycle--intake, compression, ignition, exhaust--, you’re way ahead of 95% of people. Add to that how a camshaft controls valve timing and you might as well be a mechanical genius.

Of course they did.
