  • I have been using private trackers for 15 years now and have been extremely happy with them. I dont mind seeding back, plus not all of them have the ratio requirement. My tv show site knows it would be very hard to keep that from slipping so instead of ratio its just a certain length for episodes and season grabs. I really dont care about keeping my bittorrent app running since i leave my pc on anyway. As for sonarr it just copies the file to the new directory and renames it, after a few months ill do a cleanup that takes 2 min.

As for usenet, my coworker loves it but he definitely says it has issues which may or may not be an issue today or workarounds for it? He has said the takedown requests are so fast now that finding a lot of stuff that releases quickly can be difficult if you dont use sonarr or radarr to grab right away. Every now and then he has to ask me to find stuff.

The only real issues ive ever had is the instability where sometimes theres outages and not much you can do. I remember last year or maybe year before that one of the biggest had a 2 month outage and things looked bleak.

  • Thats crazy that you now need to prove you have a business to get that service? Don’t worry, it cost way more anyway and offers very little extra to be worth it at least in the US. I used to use duckdns years ago, and now I just said screw it and purchased a domain name from namecheap for a few bucks for the year and a few more bucks for the ssl cert then use the ddns service through them and link it to a pc on my network using the small app they provide to keep the IP updated. I use the name for all my services. Sometimes the name will cost way more when renewing in which case ill just pick another one because screw them. Ive used a .co and now using a .space.

  • Ive been saying this. The only way this succeeds is to sell this to businesses, but even then I feel like companies are realizing it’s way to much money to actually justify it because they want to reduce workforce and save money but this will not do that. In the end they get a great deal on the first few years before the contract is up and then have to renew at way higher pricing. Not to mention they have less control over the company and will be paying yearly maintenance fees that probably cost more than the raises they wouldnt have given their employees but now have to pay up those crazy fees every year no matter what. Yeah it’s absolutely going to fail for most things for the forseeable future. Someone will find a way to make it work eventually, but its still a ways off.

  • I feel this way as well! I was very late to the game so I know all to well what it was like to date myself. I never had any dates or experience with another woman until I met her and that was at 25. I loved the freedom I had prior, but I also wanted to experience being with someone. I guess I got my wish! At least now that I know way more I already kind of know what I want going forward. I will love the freedom again and the ability to do what I want whenever I want more than anything.

Knowing what I know now I have a lot more to look for in a person and knowing how hard it was to even find someone the first time I have my doubts that will ever happen haha. At least this time I will absolutely be ok with being single forever! If I ever persue another person it will be at least 1 if not 2 years after this is finalized.

  • Wellll, I don’t know if I would go that far haha. We are currently in the middle of a divorce. Nothing related to this of course. But we have been unhappy and trying for a few years now and finally said enough recently. 13 years and soon to be starting over. From what I see it’s crazy out there. I may just take the easy route and stay single for the remainder of my life lol.

  • From what I heard there is already language that explains exactly what to do and that is if it fails then the fallback is electric chair. Of course her lawyers will fight it for the next 20 years, and even crazier if somehow they win. My guess is she dies naturally in jail before whatever next attempt gets finalized and I am ok with that.

So my opinion is, no she should not be freed and just be kept in jail for the remainder of her life.

  • Nope, this one was directly from growing up in a home where her own mother basically brainwashed her kids into a lot of things, and the idea of makeup being the only way to truly feel beatiful was one of them. Convinced her that it’s what guys want her entire life umong other things…

Obviously if it was something sbe enjoyed doing and liked it as a hobby then yeah go for it. This was definitely not that though and was truly shocked when finding out it was not a necessity and for the most part something not all men find attractive.

Also she still wears it, just on special occasions instead of every day which was crazy to me to put in all that time. Also uses way less as well when she does. Im pretty sure she was relieved even if she doesn’t truly believe me. Some parents really suck…

  • “Nomad said that most of the suspicious traffic didn’t escape the network. He has a hypothesis that the unit was simply affected by a bug. Nomad said he has over 10 years of experience in IT and works as a Technical Field and Community Specialist at the 3D printer manufacturer Prusa.”

Absolutely what I thought. I love how everyone assumed it was hacked… In the 20 years I have been at my job we have had a particular model of desk phone that it happened to twice and when it did it creates a network storm and tanks your entire network (at the time this company did not have proper vlans in place which would have mitigated the issue). You trace it to the device and reboot it and everything is fine again. The phones were still replaced just in case, but that was always one of the wilder ones here. My guess is this was something similar and since it’s his older parents they probably didnt even notice the network being bogged down.

“After rebooting the device and reconnecting it to a segregated virtual LAN (VLAN), the issue did not reappear.”

Why even bother? Is it actually required to have an internet connection? If so get rid of it, thats so dumb and intrusive… and if not just turn off wifi on it, why even leave it on at all.
