It doesn’t do anything for me at all. Pink Floyd has a couple of great songs, “Wish you were here” and some others which escapes me, but I just don’t enjoy any of their albums all the way through, too few songs on them that I like.

But I am making no judgement on their skill and the quality of the music, it is just not for me.

Well, if you inflate that “explanation” to everyone who says they don’t like the band, then you are obviously resorting to a strawman. It is in fact perfectly possible to not like them, not everyone has the same taste in music.

Not with the American theme. I think that runs quite counter to the originals. It is refreshing to have content that is not US centric for once, and these modern ones very much ruins that.

The other way round. Americans are actually quite conservative when it comes to pizzatoppings. Most Americans have never heard of tuna or potatoes as toppings for example. They seem to stick to a handful of different meats, and that is basically it. There is a lot more variety in other countries, and also in Italy in particular.

That is complete bullshit as well. People who write such things have no idea how academic history works. Sure governments often have a tendency to have history presented in a certain light which fits their particular political agenda, but academic history functions quite independently of those governments, especially a field such as World War II, which is huge and transnational, being written from all sorts of perspectives and contexts.

They do tend to gravitate towards each other when they know they can benefit from each other. But it is never a lasting relationship.
