  • Its okay not to get it, but your doubling down on some nonsense.

A persons behavior during active use usually carries a lot of shame. Its not unusual to want to tell some of colorful stories from that part of a persons life, especially if they are now living in recovery.

I hate this guy as much as the next but saying his boasting about a pretty tame drug story does more to hurt addicts than anyone just isn’t true. And on top of that its simply more stigma.

What you are implying is that a person who has done that has no business being in [insert respectful career].

  • There is nothing wrong with using both, and we have no idea from the post what other life lessons this father is teaching their kids.

Depending on the scenario, such as a situation where herd mentality has already taken over, it might make sense to just quietly dismiss yourself or have some escape plan that does not include trying to confront the herd; that can be dangerous.

Hypothetical: What if they were about to do something legally dubious. That kid may paint a target on themselves if they start acting like a “snitch.”

To your point, I agree we should be teaching folks how to stand up for themselves and how to set boundaries all that, but thats not always the way to do it (and again we have no clue what else this obviously cool / responsible father is doing).

No no no, see here we add 7 dollars for “delivery” and as you would correctly assume, that goes directly to the CEO’s 4th yacht.

Then we shame the customer into dropping another 15 or 20%.

I’ve recently just stopped tipping for any company that puts a fake delivery fee in their subtotal (or outright stop ordering from them when possible).
