A rich white person with green eyes will approach you and your dog on your walk, they will ask to pet your dog. Do not let them.

Wait, really? Proven? It’s not even a question, proven to not work outright?

Yes. It’s not like linux is suddenly having an influx of slop and bugs, it’s that more is being found than before. In the same way that autism rates didn’t go up, diagnostics got better.
I love normie gyms. There’s multiple treadmills, bikes, and all sorts of machines, but only one cage and only one bench - and they’re never taken, even when the gym is busy!
I can just go in, even take both and no one bats an eye, it’s amazing. And the gym is a 5min walk from my house!

Oh no, google is down 12% in a day… even though they’re still up 300% when compared to 2023.

My best decision was to start going, my worst decision was giving up. My 2nd best decision was to start going again a year ago. I won’t say I feel great, but I feel better than I did before.

If you think stealing code is wrong, I will have you know that that was a feature long before LLMs existed. Steal my code, take it.
And unlike art/music/writing where this is impossible, if you don’t want to share code, close-source your project.

History repeats itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DelF6zEHXpE
Telling a person who doesn’t know better to just do better will at best do nothing and at worst exacerbate the problem.
Sure, telling people to do better makes me feel better about myself, but it does nothing beyond that.
I guess we can then tell people who don’t know better to just magically do better. That will fix it.

Please do, let’s just call them LLMs.

Holy shit, Bucky! Enjoy these dusted tomes!

Same, waiting for sync -f to finish would help most of the time.

Hmm, that might mean I have another issue as well. Since safely remove would just remove the device instantly without waiting…

Wait, is this the fix to that annoying thing when you copy a large file to a slow USB/SDCard and the OS instantly reports the copy as being complete, but actually it’s just been written to RAM and is slowly being written to the actual media in the background, and if you “safely remove” the device you just have a broken incomplete file? Is this the fix for that, finally!?
Edit: YES, YES IT IS! HOLY SHIT, AMAZING!
Regarding the self-update comment: You can use GearLever, an appimage manager.
Not only can it handle updating but also automatically creates .desktop start menu entries for launching applications.
