Aren’t these crypto hacks mostly always insiders way of money laundering?
“Oh noes, we lost your money. Those damn North korean hackers stole it. There is nothing we can do.”
Good, binance should have been shutdown and the ceo/founder in prison.
He did go to prison for a few years, as part of a deal made with the US government to settle a lawsuit against Binance, but is out by now
Haha nice
I hope the “cybercrime group” was state run.
juche cybernecromance
I have good news
The hackers behind the raid were from North Korea, according to U.S. blockchain analysis firms TRM Labs and Chainalysis. The attackers targeted Binance wallets on 10 blockchains and shifted most of the funds in about 20 minutes, TRM Labs said in a statement.
Local idiot/military ‘crypto expert’: NK hackers are the hardest working in the scene, one mistake and they get sent to a camp.
Says a .kr website. Like obviously I want DPRK to be 2.68 milliard richer at the expense of Binance, but it’s not like “North Korea will hack your computer” doesn’t work in all the accuser’s favours.
It’s pretty likely that it was a state actor given the amount involved, and DPRK has been pretty good at this stuff. Here’s a better overview of it https://www.citationneeded.news/its-always-north-korea/
