  • I know plenty of people who do have hobbies and all that, and they are plenty losers. Being a loser isn’t about having an empty CV, it’s more of a vibe thing. If you can keep yourself generally clean, have a few neat things you do(you seem to), and can generally keep things together when other people are relying on you then you’re doing great.

The defining traits for losers are people who blame others for all problems(sometimes it really is there fault, but you know what I mean), are generally nasty, and who make people uncomfortable. If someone doesn’t do those things they may or may not be boring, but they won’t be a loser.

  • I don’t want a big screen. My hands are bigger than nearly every other person’s I’ve seen this far and I yearn for an edge-to-edge iPhone 5. My friend has all his old phones and I held it not long ago and was like “yes, this.”

Big screens are just heavy as fuck and are too easy to look at for what a goddamn phone is. I had a 3GS once and it was fine, no one died, and now a regular phone is what was once called a “Plus” or a “Max” or whatever else.

  • That one’s on you. They’re saying that your brain can basically override you and, to some degree, reality. It’s the reason you don’t see your nose, or clocks take a lot longer to run down a second the first time you glance over. Pain isn’t actually related to damage, and you can change your whole mood by shooting some straight lemon juice. Our bodies, behind the scenes, are doing crazy shit that our conscious mind has no business knowing about.

  • I love when people act like the alternative to capitalism is zero private business and full communism. It’s like, no, the thing before the -ism is simply the thing it centers. Capitalism, as you say, centers capital but after that it can take several forms, all of which suck major ass as they reward nearly any behaviour which makes more money. Even objectively awful shit can just be paid off, it’s insane.

  • Don’t forget that maintenance is super cheap AND most people, with only the most basic tools, can do the work in their living room or even just on a sidewalk. And if I don’t get it right and the brakes don’t work perfectly I probably won’t fuckin’ die.

Hi, car owner here. I do all the work myself and it requires a fair bit of knowledge, expensive tools, space, and a childhood where I was never told I couldn’t do that work if I was thoughtful about it. That’s a high fuckin’ bar and requires a whole lot of privilege-oh there it is, too many people with privilege like to shit on those without and most of North America has dogshit for public transit or bike infrastructure and the “freedom of movement” with a car is all there but heavily artificial. Thanks auto industry and their lobbyists.
