1·2 days agoNone of them would be interested in being so “hands-on” in Persian gulf. Maybe the new Pakistan Saudi Turkey alliance could step in but its hard to make a case for them to work against US actions.

Ya, that’s the point - for a particular designation, the wage will have downward pressure, but for workers as whole the distribution of wages gets an upward pressure.
Alright, I appreciate that instead of union activity, they’re into political activity. When you said ‘soft handed’, did you mean those who do no work need not have union, or those employed in clerical work do not deserve union? A sickle/hammer chauvinism over keyboard?
Assuming there can only be a fixed number of jobs, you’re right. However, that’s like solving for spherical chickens in vacuum.

Russia and China are smart enough to know that a pro US government in Iran is impossible. Europe defending against US aggression will be, again, impossible.
