Violent and destructive protests don’t happen much in red states because conservatives are mostly okay with looters valuing property more than their lives. Conservatives also value looters’ lives less than their property.

Huh. The only time I breathe shitty air is when I travel to cities. I mostly just avoid cities though. Not so much because of the traffic or crime or pollution though. It’s city people. Fucking insufferable.

And I save so much by not living in an inflated city that I can afford to rent cars all over the world.

I don’t like cities anywhere. I don’t travel to visit cities, I travel to experience remote areas in different parts of the world. I’ve lived in Europe and used lots trains but the places I enjoy are usually more difficult to get to

Carbon tax is hilarious to me, the third world is burning all of the trash they don’t send down river into the ocean and are absolutely ravaging the world and idiot Europeans are okay with being fleeced for flying mass transit or driving a fuel efficient car. The only carbon tax I’m okay with is private jets - not because carbon taxes make any sense, I’m just fine with arbitrarily taxing the rich. Carbon dioxide makes plants grow faster and the world has historically had higher levels than it has now. It is not a pollutant. People are fucking stupid.

If you visited my area you wouldn’t have to drive one. You could even get a hotel with a shuttle, and if you stayed downtown you could walk a lot of places. But if you wanted to go anywhere other than walking from your hotel you’d have to hire an Uber. If you were near the part of town where I live, there are zero options other than cars.

I have traveled a lot of the world also. But I don’t like cities, nor do I visit them. When I visit countries I like to visit mountains, wilderness and remote villages and camp in the wild under the stars. I have rented many 4x4s.

I was always taught that grammar matters for formal writing but that spoken language has FAR more flexibility - essentially don’t call a dog a cat and you’re probably close enough. That came from one of my Harvard-educated literature professors.

If you’re smart, living with toddlers is a very small piece of your life. My kids are grown. If I ever have grandkids they sure as hell won’t be invited into bed with my naked ass.

Much of the world wants to see the US destroyed. We earned that, but because of that we pretty much have to make attempts to strike fear into our enemies. I have a problem with America’s history of foreign policy, but I don’t have a problem with the death penalty. I’m of the opinion that certain actions a person can take should absolutely make them fear the consequences of their actions.
