  • Nah pretty sure it went something like:

    SCENARIO 1:

    PUTIN: “activate clown show.”

HEGSETH: “I got a good idea.”

BROADER DOWN-BALLOT REPUBLICANS: “are you insane? I get the plan to normalize shock and move us to authoritarianism. But wait until after the midterms you moron.”

    SCENARIO 2:

TRUMP PUPPETEERS: “We need a distraction in the news cycle from the plan to help Putin out in his major ballistic missile attack against Ukraine.”

So They pick something so crazy it acts like a lightning rod, but something they can easily reverse as a decision and even make Trump look like he has some restraint.

Again all that is beside the point. You’re noting the broader coalition pushed for this – and yet – the actual people for whom the broader coalition voted into power in Congress and successfully passed the legislation were, in fact milquetoast liberals who pulled the lever for the Civil Rights Act of 1964. If it was won in the streets, then why did the conservatives NOT vote for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 but the Liberals did… ? How curious.

Anything that stalls war and murder is good.

Yes, liberals definitely paved the way. The justices liberals appointed factually voted in support of same-sex marriage. All who supported Obergefell v. Hodges except Anthony Kennedy were appointed by Liberal Democrats, fun fact

Naturally, civics is important and expressing your 1A rights are very important! Movements are dynamic, no dispute there. But at the end of the day, all these movements in the USA had one thing in common that led to these milestones: They voted for the Liberal, who reformed the law.

I have my major grievances with the Democratic party, but they are irrefutably better and throughout history (when acting as the liberal coalition and not conservatives pre-Southern Strategy), have been the bringers of progress, slow though it may be.

That’s why I am proudly voting Democrat all the way down my ballot for these midterm elections for Congressional control that are the very first chance to put brakes on the fascist Trump regime. In doing so, in this user’s words, we can “stall” and slow down and give people a chance to respond!

Also, everyone check your upcoming No King’s Protests!

  • Passage of legislation by milquetoast liberals, as in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 that yielded resounding progress?

How about Liberal-appointed justices paving the way for Same Sex Marriage?

If Liberal governments crafting diplomatic agreements like JCPOA to avoid war, or joining international pacts to try to address climate change like the Paris Climate Agreement?

If both sides same why historically has only one side paved the way of progress, even if slowly?

To others reading this: just remember anyone asserting both sides are the same are Trump supporters, whether they realize it or not. It’s no different than the 1 nazi at a table thing.

You’re saying Hamas didn’t directly target and murder children on October 7?

You’re saying errant unguided rockets from Palestine couldn’t hit children?

You’ve become the very thing you hate in your zealotry.

EDIT: Ladies & Gentlemen, take note they could not answer the questions and went one step further to suggest all children in Israel (some living there being Arabic, Palestinian themselves) would be a “Nazi Child.” This is inhumane and disgusting.

  • Please directly answer and acknowledge your mistake in reading my original comment:

“in government” — did you see that part?

You do know MTG was kicked out right and no longer occupied a public seat… Right… ? It’s not even close. Leaving aside support differences for Ukraine.

Yes I care about children no matter where they live. Only people who are fucked in the head would say otherwise.

Iron Dome is purely a defensive asset to protect civilians; anyone who cares about children would do the same.

Well you know that is funny because I guess I’m more able to step back and look at the big picture from a rational standpoint; you know, logically looking at every single issue:

    • Are Democrats better than Republicans on support for Ukraine against the Russian Genocide? — Yes.
    • Are Democrats better than Republicans on LGBTQ+ Rights? — Yes.
    • Are Democrats better on women’s rights and abortion rights — Yes.
    • Are Democrats better on antitrust? — Yes. (See what they did to Ticketmaster and what Trump reversed).
    • Are Democrats better than Republicans on Climate Change — Yes. (Republicans backed out of Paris Climate Agreement)
    • Are Democrats better at handling global pandemics? — Yes. (better science adherence; Republicans backed out of WHO).
    • Are Democrats better at not committing January 6’s? — Yes.
    • Is ALL opposition to Palestinian genocide in government from Democrats? (Abdul, Mamdani, Bernie Sanders, Tlaib, etc.) — YES.

So, anyone who is not supporting Democrats over Republicans is of course enabling an objectively-worse party and President (Trump). I mean if I was Palestinian I certainly would take my choice of any Democrat over any Republican! Worse than that, they are objectively stating that they do not care about the other issues mentioned (and this is non-exhaustive).

Single-issue voters are bad, even when it comes to allegations of genocide (because there is a gradient to even one genocide, let alone the second you conveniently neglect to discuss).

Thus, the default position should be: Anyone willing to allege Republicans are equal or better than Democrats should be treated as a nazi because their ill-logic in fact supports the worst evil, the nazi.

(It’s kinda like that saying, “If there’s a nazi at a table and ten other people there, you got 11 nazis.” Well, if you have a nazi, a Dem, and someone saying “BoTh SiDes!”, then you’ve got 2 nazis.)
