It takes 67 in the senate to remove someone from office. The dems have 54, with two undecided.
Oh, and one of those is Fetterman…
Doesn’t take 67 to start investigating them and drag shit up.
The Senate cannot impeach, only remove from office or decline to do so. The House is solely responsible for impeaching. Most members of Trump’s cabinet will likely be impeached and then not removed from office (and of course there are zero penalties for that happening…)
Someone needs to make a list of Republican senators from states that just voted for Democrats. It seems to me that those senators might be more open to convicting Trump this time around. But I’m sure a lot of them, like Ron Johnson, have Kompromat on them.
Even so, it’s not a waste of time to impeach him again and maybe even a fourth time.

Both things can be true at once though.
I’m not from the US so I feel like I need more info.
Everyone seems excited about possible impeachments, but what is the actual consequences of them?
It feels like there aren’t many serious consequences as a result based on previous ones?
If the House impeached a government official, it is referred to the senate to conduct an investigation and trial which can lead to removal from office. If they are removed they can be barred from ever holding office again. This cannot be pardoned by the president. This is not a criminal trial however, but may lead to criminal charges.
Previous ones were done with a slim Democratic majority. This brings about a much larger majority with a very unpopular administration meaning that the possibility of Republicans voting to convict is a lot better.
