Canada@lemmy.ca•Stelco employee says plant layoffs due to tariffs is confusing when ‘all we do is Canadian orders’
16·2 days agoWatch the interview with Rosemary Barton, the CEO of Cleveland-Cliffs is barely able to conceal the bullshit he is spinning.
He bought Stelco to raise prices of Canadian steel to make his US assets more profitable. He says it directly and through the language of Maga. That is all, now he’ll nuke Canadian production to benefit his other assets.
He will rehire those employees if Canada reaches a deal with US on steel. Blackmail. Foreign threats.

If you were to generate a bug for bug copy that would be one thing, this is just a doppelganger.
Were it made with Ai or not, its just not something that has any real value.

1·4 days agoI was starting to think it should be called SI, but short for Simulated Intelligence. Its a good description of these tools, which look intelligent but are not truely intelligent.
Then Trump came out with his bullshit.

Linux Foundation has financial backers. He’s gotta give them lip service to keep them excited and happy. Anthropic is now a Gold Member. Oracle, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon are all Platinum Members.
FOSS has always been subject to corporate meddling in their governance. There’s a reason we call it Linux and not GNU-Linux. GNU gets no money so GNU goes nowhere.
Linus gives a headline using agents, Linux gets millions to continue doing real work. That’s the game they are playing, for better or worse.
