Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What does a potential real near-future society look like with over 30% of workers no longer having work because AI does it, while some specific jobs still remain essential?
3·7 hours agoNo longer having to work because AI does much of it implies nearly automated gay space socialism. If what is ment no longer able to find wage labour and the expectation is still full market driven, bloody revolution, successful or not.
So either like now but better (the majority work needed done in the past is automated today) or like now but much much worse.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some of your favorite lines from song lyrics?
1·9 hours agoWe brag on having bread, but none of us are bakers We all talk having greens, but none of us own acres If none of us own acres, and none of us grow wheat Then who will feed our people when our people need to eat?

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•How can self-hosted software make money without hurting the ecosystem?English
3·1 day agoFirst find a way to track your costs. Measure how much it costs to give it away (to your self and people that support you starting it as a buisness). Do market analysis based on those number. How much do you need to support both your operatiinal costs of hosting and devoloper time paid with a fair wage, and what does compare to how much consumers are currently paying. If that looks good invest in an accountant and lawyer to see what the buisness plan viability might look like and set up a LLC. From there look for partners that can help you create a sustainable buisness and fill in skill gaps you dont have, or hire out the rest.
Thats it.
Even better make it a community coop so that the skilled labor and community can have actual ownership in the org to help balance out thr risk and encourage litteral buyin.

4·2 days agoIts a real the boy who cried AGI problem. They are doing constant bullshit hype to keep investors so when they announce anything the assumption is bullshit hype. It doesn’t help that their product is really really good at writing bullshit hype.
