  • The other aspect of not discussing it is even if it’s acceptable some people get hurt about it. Even though you know you can you don’t, because it’s upsetting.

I have been assaulted. In the early years I wanted to talk about it, some people would but I felt like a weirdo discussing it, like I could handle it more than them. And then when you are calm and cool when discussing it there’s those who accuse you of being too cold about it. The people around me who love me can’t handle it, then it stopped being discussed it and it becomes a sad dirty little secret.

  • Radical is used as a dirty word lately. It’s been used to imply wrongdoing or being associated with terrorism.

It’s not. Don’t listen to media language like this. Don’t be scared to think radically and support revolution.

Another aspect is other people acting like France shouldn’t do this. It’s like telling someone else to stop their momentum. Others might sit comfortable with being taken advantage of, but others don’t. They get up and do something.

  • TBF Helen Dewdney is a consumer rights person. She generally explains and advises on misleading consumer practices. She is not championing the ladies gripe, she is commenting on the complaining ladies rights, which were provided by the travel provider, who kinda lumped everything under the idea of a ‘package holiday’ providing everything you require. She did actually say that it was probably not reasonable to expect English food as part of that.

There’s a big difference between knowing and advocating consumer rights and being a super karen. The internet has made standing up for your rights a aspect of shame or ridicule rather than something you should protect and practice.
