  • Condescending video title and feeding the “AI” grift.

OP could’ve posted the video summary at least…

AI is solving mathematical problems that have resisted some of the world’s greatest mathematicians for decades. Why are mathematicians concerned instead of celebrating? The answer reveals a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes mathematics valuable. From Euler’s seven bridges of Königsberg to the race to the Moon, I explain why solving a problem is not necessarily the same as advancing science, and why the real value of mathematical research often lies in the discoveries made along the way. More importantly, I explore a potentially devastating consequence of AI’s growing capabilities: what happens when the next generation of talented students no longer sees a reason to become mathematicians? The implications could extend far beyond mathematics and affect the future of scientific progress itself.

  • Have we been running insecure software since the arrival of AI?

No, “AI” doesn’t exist and software has been insecure since it was invented.

Has anyone had this sensation and if so has anyone linked this to AI finding more holes in OSS that would have normally been found by human scrutiny?

A major point of automated security checks is that humans didn’t find these vulnerabilities and might never have found them without computational aids.

does it mean that we have been running insecure software all along?

Yes, 10000%. Security is a complete illusion even with automated checks. If an organization has enough time and money (eg. state surveillance), they will hack whatever they want to hack.
