I always loved how that argument highlighted how little people know about the topic.

Metal doesn’t have to melt to lose structural integrity.

something is either a SOLID or a LIQUID and there is no in between

this is also how I frame my worldview and politics and I can not be convinced it isn’t perfect

Pours Mtn Dew onto steel beams.

      Steel beams disintegrate

I guess batteries can’t melt steel beams

You know in a small way they probably do. Nothing raises nationalistic pride quicker than an attack on the home land. They can yern for the good old days of 15 flags on the front porch while rabidly defending the Raytheon powered death cult raining down on the middle east.

They have no chance of getting that high, or do the same amount of damage, for two reasons:

    • physics
    • they’re unlikely to ever exist

But, let’s assume these do get built, and some people buy some of them, and some of these people use them on road… well, we already have a vast amount of footage were tesla cars are embedded into various buildings. It’s just gonna happen on the first floor too.

Not enough mass. The airliners were wide bodies and were fully fueled at the time of impact. Thats like 9,000 gallons of fuel. Imagine how heavy it is to carry a 1 gallon jug of milk, imagine how much 9,000 of those would feel. You wouldn’t want to try to catch a full 1 gallon jug of milk if I tossed it down from a 3rd story window, right? Now imagine that gallon of milk moving 3-4 times as fast…now multiply that by 9,000.

That roadster is going to be out of fuel by time it gets up to the 100th floor. Amateurs.
