Well I’m not. Johnson is a figurehead within a fractally evil system. He’s not even resigning from office yet as of this comment; he’s just giving up his specific role as House GOP leader. The results of this election only indicate that the current figureheads are unpopular. Remember, Trump did not happen overnight or for no reason. This took decades of (bipartisan) neoliberal policies that the Democratic Establishmentstill openly champions as the way forward, and which admittedly some of the more shrewd political operators pay lip service to undoing.

And regardless of which party is in power, even if it was a nominally liberal or even “socialist” party, the fact of the matter is that the existence of the settler-colonial project, in any form that inherits the white supremacist legacy and history of the project, is a death sentence for all life on Earth, but in particular BIPOC living on Turtle Island. Since the FBI and CIA under Democrats are just as ruthless in their pursuit of anarchists, communists, and decolonial activists, albeit not as openly as the Republicans, it is arguable that electing Democrats does not even make conditions easier to organize under… unless your activism is uncontroversial enough to fly under the radar of the capitalists and their enforcers.
