Despite a wildly unpopular war with Iran, a mass protest movement for peace hasn’t materialized — at least in the ways we’ve been taught to recognize.

We crossed some kind of abuse threshold.
I’ve been alive a long time. I’ve always been vocal about everything that is now visible. No one believed that the rich actually wanted to hurt people (as opposed to simply an accidental byproduct of greed), that there were giant pedophile groups, that the climate was headed into a disaster that simply could not be weatherd by 90% of the earth population, and that this was being done on purpose (again as opposed to an accident byproduct of greed), and so much more.
People always agreed with me that bad people were doing bad things, but denied the severity I was trying to impart to them and the truth of why it was happening. They would talk about it all though.
They would discuss problems they could accept and possible solutions. They would discuss action or being supportive of action. They would get emotionally invested in the horrible things they could see, and how to fight them.
People are mostly no longer capable of either.
I thought that when all this became visible, I would be vindicated and gain a country full of allies. I have seen the opposite. I have become untouchable.
I have thought deeply about this. No one ever even seriously looked at what I was saying decades ago, because they can’t, psychologically. This level of depravity and destruction is not something they can handle in any way, and they themselves are now at direct risk. So they simply stop looking.
The abuse is so severe and their minds so ill equipped to handle the truth, that they cannot even confront it. Especially when it is coupled with blanket surveillance and random punishment.
I have watched several formally vibrant, large communities of people, become shells mimicking the lives they used to embody, while completely ignoring the need to organize and plan for our own safety, much less action.
People are dancing on blood slick floors, or cowering in front of the glow of their drug delivery devices, hoping that exhaustion gets to them before the fire in the walls.
