I think I’m too European to understand this post
The home team (devils) were beating the away team (rangers) very badly. Rangers fans started to leave early. The scoreboard guy put up train times back to NY well before the game was over.
" Your team sucks, and we know you gave up and want to go home, so here’s the train times"
Pretty normal. In German football stadiums they also announce train departures and delays at the end of the match.
